MÜSİAD, which has undertaken many projects for the development and progress of Turkey, has accelerated the establishment of thematic high schools in order to meet the “qualified intermediate staff” need that the business world greatly needs. MÜSİAD has launched the Kartal District Atalar Vocational and Technical Anatolian High School Furniture and Design Department on February 02, 2019 within the scope of the “protective school” project.

The Atalar Vocational and Technical Anatolian High School MÜSİAD Furniture and Design Department was made ready as a result of approximately 6 months of intensive work. The main purpose here is to increase the qualified manpower, which is the most important problem of the furniture sector, and to meet the qualified intermediate staff need of the sector. In this context, as part of our work, the most equipped school in Istanbul in terms of furniture and design was first identified. Subsequently, the roadmap and curriculum were determined in the workshops organized with the contributions of the school principal and valuable teachers. Later, with the support of leading NGOs of our country such as the Furniture Federation and ITO, the Department of Furniture and Design was redesigned based on the modern conditions required by the age. In order to ensure the development of our students and their professionalization in their fields, everything from the necessary raw material supply to the clothes that the students will wear is provided down to the smallest detail in our department. In addition, the first 3 students who are successful and ranked are taken to the Milan Fair, the largest fair in the sector, to increase their professional competence. In addition, students are provided with internship opportunities in MÜSİAD member companies, helping them to be more easily employed in the future.
