MÜSİAD President Abdurrahman Kaan issued a written statement on the third anniversary of the July 15th Coup Attempt.
In his statement, Kaan stated the following:
Three years have passed since the treacherous July 15th Coup Attempt, which has gone down as a dark stain in the history of the Republic of Turkey and from which the Turkish Nation taught the world a lesson in democracy.
During this three-year period, members of FETÖ who insidiously infiltrated the Turkish Armed Forces and various levels of government were meticulously eliminated, while our state's struggle continues with determination.
On the night of July 15th, our nation, without hiding behind any excuses and regardless of age, woman or man, stood against the coup plotters, defending their homeland at the cost of their lives and refusing to allow the FETÖ members to achieve their treacherous goals.
The struggle waged by our beloved nation on the night of July 15th, the night of these heinous attacks, is an exemplary struggle for democracy that the entire world should embrace.
The Turkish nation, already possessing a strong democratic tradition, was taught a significant lesson in democracy, while July 15th also served as the first step in a radical shift in mentality.
During this process, we once again grasped the importance of standing united and strong against attacks targeting our country from within and without. We set aside all ideological differences and united with a shared consciousness of defending our homeland.
MÜSİAD's Place Is Always With Its State and Nation
As the world's most widespread and influential NGO, MÜSİAD has always stood with the national will under all circumstances, opposing any attempt to undermine it.
Following the July 15th Coup Attempt, MÜSİAD made its position clear, immediately declaring its support for the nation and state, and embarked on a journey to inform the entire world of our nation's struggle for democracy.
As MÜSİAD, over the past three years, in every country we visited and in many parts of our country, we have actively participated in this struggle, emphasizing that democracy is essential not for a specific group, but for all segments of society.
We have not and will not allow our country, which we founded with the blood of our martyrs, brought to this day through many hardships and sacrifices, and which is marching towards the future with the goal of a Strong Turkey, to be shaken by any external intervention, especially by terrorist organizations.
On this occasion, on the third anniversary of July 15th, I pray to God for mercy upon our martyrs, who will be remembered with gratitude as long as the Republic of Turkey exists, and I once again express my gratitude to our veterans.
