Abdurrahman Kaan, Chairman of the Independent Industrialists' and Businessmen's Association (MÜSİAD), and the domestic branch presidents issued a press statement regarding the heinous attack in Idlib at the Presidents' Meeting held in Hatay as part of the 103rd General Administrative Assembly.

Before the statement, Chairman Abdurrahman Kaan met with İskenderun District Governor İskender Yönden, Hatay Mayor Fatih Tosyalı, İskenderun District Health Director Dr. Volkan Yeter, and our district commanders. Kaan exchanged views on the developments in Idlib and stated that MÜSİAD is ready for any task.

After his contacts, Kaan proceeded to Hatay State Hospital, where, along with our Board Members and Domestic Branch Presidents, he visited our soldiers who were veterans of the Idlib attack. Kaan and our MÜSİAD members subsequently attended the funeral ceremony for our martyrs.

Finally, Kaan arrived at the Presidents' Meeting hall and delivered a press statement regarding the attacks in Idlib that led to the deaths of 33 of our soldiers.

"Turkish Soldiers on the Rise to the Aid of Those Whose Rights Have Been Deprived"

Kaan noted that the Republic of Turkey has never throughout its history participated in an invasion that would disrupt the territorial integrity of another state or an attack that would disrupt the national order. He emphasized that our state is in Idlib to protect our national security against a major threat at our doorstep. Kaan said, “We were present in both the Sochi and Astana processes as a party proposing solutions, not exacerbating problems. Throughout these processes, we acted in accordance with the principles of unity and protection within our state tradition. We did not view the war in Syria solely as a diplomatic and military crisis management process. As the Republic of Turkey, we were the only country to approach the situation with humanitarian sensitivities and strived to resolve the humanitarian crisis there. Our soldiers always stand with the oppressed and against the oppressor. They are on the front lines for the good of the world, in the trenches for humanity. They are on the move to come to the aid of those whose rights have been taken away.” "The Glorious Turkish Army Will Do What Is Necessary"

Emphasizing that regime forces violated the borders established under the Manbij agreement under the pretext of an "operation against terrorists," Kaan said:

"Regime forces and their patrons, who have ignored Turkey's calls for a ceasefire and withdrawal to allow refugees forced to flee their homes in harsh winter conditions to return home and to open a safe corridor, continue their unlawful actions. The attacks we are subjected to in our territories, for justified reasons, violate all principles of international law and contradict international agreements.

We have no doubt that the Glorious Turkish Army will do what is necessary against the regime's unlawful actions and attacks on our soldiers. Maintaining our unity and uniting in difficult times, as we have always done, is an action befitting us and our culture.

As MÜSİAD, we will use all our resources and resources in every decision taken, and in every step taken, both through diplomatic channels at the table and through military measures on the ground, by taking into consideration the material and spiritual peace and interests of our state and nation." We declare clearly and firmly that we stand with our state and our people with all our might.
