We believe that our national economy will continue its growth process in the coming period.

The Turkish Statistical Institute (TSI) announced the gross domestic product (GDP) results for the third quarter of this year (July-September). Accordingly, the Turkish economy grew by 3.9 percent in the third quarter.

MÜSİAD President Mahmut Asmalı commented on the matter, saying, "We wholeheartedly believe that our national economy's production, export, and employment-focused growth process will continue in the coming period." President Asmalı made the following statement:

"The Turkish economy grew by 3.9 percent in the third quarter of 2022, maintaining its positive growth trend for the ninth consecutive quarter. Despite high geopolitical risks and a slowing global economy, the Turkish economy, thanks to its dynamic and resilient structure, managed to grow above the global and G20 averages.

The Russo-Ukrainian War, which broke out at a time when post-pandemic supply chain problems had not yet been fully resolved, significantly negatively impacted the global economic conjuncture during the recovery phase. The continued growth of our economy in such a challenging environment, where recession and stagflation scenarios are being discussed in developed countries, demonstrates the extent to which Turkey has strengthened its immunity to external shocks.

Among the G20 countries whose data were released in the third quarter, Turkey ranked fourth, following Saudi Arabia, Indonesia, and Mexico. It shared the same ranking with China, which grew by 3.9 percent in the same period, at 2.4 percent. It has surpassed the UK, which grew by 2.1 percent, the Eurozone, which grew by 1.8 percent, and Germany, which grew by 1.3 percent.

As MÜSİAD, we wholeheartedly believe that the Turkish economy will continue to rise on the shoulders of our industrialists in 2023, a year we will enter with this motivation. In this context, we believe that our national economy's growth process focused on production, exports, and employment will continue in the coming period.
