During his assessment of the meeting with members of parliament, President Asmalı also touched upon the IBF 2nd Turkish-Arab Business Summit, to be held in Gaziantep from June 10-12, and MÜSİAD EXPO 2022, to be held at the TÜYAP Istanbul Fair and Congress Center from November 2-5. He said, "As we approach the centennial of our Republic, we will together carry Turkey, a land of peace and stability, to even greater heights under the strong political leadership of our President."
The "Hasbihal" meeting with members of parliament from the Independent Industrialists' and Businessmen's Association (MÜSİAD) was held in the capital, Ankara. Meeting with members of parliament as part of the Hasbihal Meeting, MÜSİAD President Mahmut Asmalı reminded the audience that MÜSİAD declared 2022 the "Year of Investment" to confidently carry Turkey's economic strength, investment potential, production volume, and export vision into the future, raise the welfare of our people, and contribute to our country's achievement of its 2023 goals. In his speech, President Asmalı emphasized that they have implemented most of the seven strategic goals they set upon taking office. He said, "We have full confidence that we will achieve our export targets for new markets with our qualified workforce, innovative entrepreneurs, investors, and well-equipped youth."
"We believe in our entrepreneurs, investors, and well-equipped youth."
In his speech, MÜSİAD President Mahmut Asmalı referred to MÜSİAD's 2022 Investment Year projection and commented on the newly established MÜSİAD Trade Office and Arab Businessmen's Office. In his statement, Mayor Asmalı said, "We believe in our entrepreneurs, investors, and well-equipped young people." President Asmalı continued:
"MÜSİAD is progressing by undertaking very important projects aimed at Turkey's economic and social development, as well as its transformation into a global player. We are carrying the flag we received after the 26th Ordinary General Assembly of MÜSİAD held on September 11, 2021, into the future with determination, resolve, and faith. We declared 2022 the 'Year of Investment' to confidently carry Turkey's economic power, investment potential, production volume, and export vision into the future, to raise the welfare of our people, and to contribute to our country's achievement of its 2023 goals. To realize these goals one by one, we have launched our seven-point strategic plan. These include strengthening MÜSİAD offices in all G-20 countries and increasing commercial diplomacy, establishing an Arab Businessmen's Liaison Office, organizing at least one MÜSİAD EXPO Fair abroad, establishing a MÜSİAD International Arbitration Center, supporting micro-exports, and, in this direction, supporting the efforts of each of our members." We devised a comprehensive action plan that included strengthening infrastructure processes such as logistics, human resources, and payment systems; connecting ambassadors and commercial attachés with businesspeople in Anatolia through economic diplomacy activities; and establishing the MÜSİAD Trade Office (MTO). Thankfully, we have achieved most of our goals. While our capacity is expanding both horizontally and vertically, our scope of activities is gradually gaining depth. The establishment of the MÜSİAD Trade Office and Arab Businessmen's Liaison Office is the most significant reflection of MÜSİAD's global vision. We are fully confident that we will achieve our export goals for new markets with our qualified workforce, innovative entrepreneurs, investors, and well-equipped young people.
"We will exceed the $250 billion export target for 2023"
Addressing Türkiye's future, President Asmalı emphasized that the $250 billion export target for 2023 can easily be achieved with the right steps. President Asmalı stated the following in his assessment:
"Having flawlessly managed its supply chain processes throughout the COVID-19 pandemic, Turkey is advancing by consolidating its strategy of becoming a prominent global hub in the logistics sector, with the goal of becoming a production and investment center. The MÜSİAD Trade Office, which accelerates the process of accurately identifying investment areas in Turkey and producing pioneering reports aimed at developing production sites, is one of the important steps taken in this direction. In the near future, by opening up to brand new foreign markets through new national and international collaborations in export-oriented trade, we will positively differentiate Turkey in every field and easily exceed our $250 billion export target for 2023. In this context, we will continue to produce and provide reports containing realistic field information to guide our business people. The International Arbitration Center, established with this belief and perspective, is a significant step forward in Turkey's development."
