MÜSİAD EXPO 2020, organized biennially by MÜSİAD, opened its doors today. Opened by Minister of Industry and Technology Mustafa Varank and MÜSİAD President Abdurrahman Kaan, the fair will run for four days. Representing more than 40,000 companies and preparing to welcome 100,000 visitors, MÜSİAD EXPO2020 is expected to host millions of visitors online.
MÜSİAD EXPO, the International Economy, Finance, and Trade Summit organized biennially by the Independent Industrialists' and Businessmen's Association (MÜSİAD), was opened by Minister of Industry and Technology Mustafa Varank and MÜSİAD President Abdurrahman Kaan. Held at the TÜYAP Fair and Congress Center as a hybrid event, both physically and online, in accordance with pandemic theories and TSE COVID-19 Safe Service standards, the MÜSİAD EXPO 2020 Trade Fair has begun welcoming visitors from Turkey and abroad. MÜSİAD EXPO 2020, the largest trade fair held since the pandemic and ending on November 21st, is taking place on a 70,000-square-meter area across 10 halls. Representing more than 40,000 companies and preparing to welcome 100,000 visitors, MÜSİAD EXPO 2020 is expected to host millions of online visitors. The fair also aims to host over 8,000 B2B business meetings.
The event, which strictly adheres to mask, social distancing, and hygiene rules, requires all participants and visitors to enter the fairgrounds after meticulous checks. Contactless technologies are used throughout the fairgrounds. TÜYAP staff are also on hand to monitor crowd control and disinfect the area.
NEW COOPERATIONS WILL BE DEVELOPED
Speaking at the opening ceremony, Minister of Industry and Technology Mustafa Varank stated that they expect the MÜSİAD EXPO 2020 Trade Fair, now an indispensable event in Turkish business life, to be a resounding success. He said, “Large-scale events like MÜSİAD EXPO enable us to develop new collaborations with countries with which we have low trade volumes. In these challenging times, joint investment, joint production, and joint trade opportunities established between countries will enable the development of a strong economic immunity against the pandemic. The winners of the post-pandemic era will be those who establish collaborations today and take swift action.”
Minister Varank stated that they have set their sights on making Turkey one of the world's leading regional production and innovation centers, emphasizing that Turkey is confidently advancing towards this goal with its production infrastructure, seamlessly functioning supply network, qualified human resources, hard-working entrepreneurs, and strong R&D ecosystem.
Varank stated that the innovation that particularly excited him this year at MÜSİAD EXPO 2020 was the newly opened Entrepreneurship Zone, and he thanked the MÜSİAD management for their vision.
NEARLY 15,000 VISITORS FROM 125 COUNTRIES WILL ATTEND
MÜSİAD President Abdurrahman Kaan announced that numerous countries, including Venezuela and Uzbekistan, Azerbaijan and Cyprus, Indonesia and Germany, will participate in MÜSİAD EXPO 2020 with booths. He said, “The strong demand from Europe, Asia-Pacific, Eurasia, Africa, and MENA countries, along with the expected arrival of nearly 15,000 visitors from 125 countries, makes us particularly happy as we renew our national macro policies for production, trade, investment, and employment.”
Kaan informed that an important step will be taken in the development of exports and trade relations between countries by signing MoU agreements with 20 new organizations from 4 continents at the fair, and reminded that another of the firsts of MÜSİAD EXPO 2020 this year is the "Entrepreneurship Area" that will be opened for the first time. Kaan, stating that Turkey's leading and globally resounding investments will meet visitors in this hall, continued:
“Unlike this year's EXPO, our fair will also feature caravans catering to all income levels to support caravan tourism. As you know, caravan tourism was first introduced by MÜSİAD as part of our strategy to develop new tourism resources and diversify tourism investments and has gained widespread popularity. Therefore, we have included caravan manufacturers at this year's EXPO 2020. Furthermore, national electric vehicles will be showcased at EXPO 2020. As MÜSİAD, we are delighted to be featuring this initiative, a source of national pride and a supporter of the Green Agreement, at the fair.”
WHICH ORGANIZATIONS WILL TAKE PART?
The fair, which will be attended by 400 foreign procurement delegations from 50 countries, including Uzbekistan, Pakistan, Kazakhstan, Sudan, Libya, Qatar, Nigeria, South Africa, Iran, Iraq, and Venezuela, will also host numerous events.
The International Business Forum (IBF), to be held on November 19th and attended by industrialists and businesspeople from around the world, is one of these important meetings.
