Established with the aim of reviving the activities in the defense sector throughout MÜSİAD, the MÜSİAD Defense Industry Sector Board has been continuing its activities since the beginning of 2022. The mission of the board was determined as “to pioneer the development of investment, employment, production and export potentials of MÜSİAD Defense Industry Sector Board member business people with domestic opportunities and national technologies.” The vision of the board is “For MÜSİAD Defense Industry Sector Board member companies to be among the World’s Top 100 Defense Industry Companies.” Since its establishment, MÜSİAD Defense Industry Sector Board has focused on activities, commercial relations and exports together with its manufacturers. Thus, the board aims to fulfill its obligations.

1974 yılında Konya’da doğan Halil Akgül, Seydişehir Teknik ve Endüstri Meslek Lisesi Elektrik Bölümü mezunudur. Savunma sanayii alanında üretim, döküm ve silah imalatı yapan Moment Teknoloji A.Ş. ve A Titanyum Metal firmalarının yöneticisidir. 2025–2027 döneminde Savunma Sanayi Sektör Kurulu Başkanı olarak görev yapmaktadır.
