As MÜSİAD Energy and Environment Sector Board, we are working on energy, environment and climate change issues in line with sustainable development. As it is known, sustainable development is planning the life and development of today and the future by not harming natural resources and ensuring that these resources are consumed consciously, establishing a balance between humans and nature and meeting the needs of future generations and developing them. Concepts such as green growth, green economy, low-carbon economy, sustainable production and consumption have emerged under the framework of sustainable development in the world. In this context, we can summarize the work we do and support in order to minimize the negative impacts of industry on the environment and absorb the negative impacts of climate change as follows: Planned industrialization with established infrastructure and correct land use Increasing energy efficiency and savings in all sectors Increasing the share of new and renewable energy sources (hydraulic, solar, wind, geothermal, biomass, etc.) in primary energy sources, Improving fossil fuel combustion technologies and expanding combined heat and power plants, Using waste as alternative fuels, Ensuring conversion to fuels that emit less CO2, Strengthening the technological infrastructure for green transformation and supporting R&D studies, Conducting studies for harmonization with EU sustainable product initiative and chemicals legislation, Preparing general and sectoral national legislation for the implementation of EU Integrated Pollution Prevention and Control legislation, Effective and efficient use of our water resources; Selecting water-efficient machines for the machinery used in factories, developing in-plant reuse, grey water systems, ensuring that treated wastewater is reused as process water with advanced treatment methods, Implementing resource efficiency and clean production studies in all facilities, Effective waste minimization and management.

Aslen Karslı olan Bülent Şen, 1970 yılında istanbul Fatih'te doğdu. 1990’da Fırat Üniversitesi Elektrik-Elektronik Mühendisliğinden mezun oldu. iş hayatına 1990’da ABB trafoda enerji mühendisi olarak başladı. 1991-1995 yılları arasında Aktaş Elektrik’de (AYEDAŞ) bölge sorumlusu olarak çalıştı. 1995-2004 yılları arasında iGDAŞ’da değişik birimlerde ve kademelerde görev yaptı ve son olarak Anadolu Bölge Müdür Yardımcısı oldu. 2004 yılında BOTAŞ’dan, EWE şirketinin devir aldığı Bursagaz şirketinde Satış ve Pazarlama Müdürü oldu. 2009 yılında ENGIE şirketinin Kocaeli Büyükşehir Belediyesi’nden devir aldığı iZGAZ doğalgaz şirketinde Genel Müdür Yardımcısı oldu ve halen bu şirket de Mevzuat iletişim Direktörü olarak görevine devam etmektedir. 2012 yılından itibaren kendi kurduğu GEP enerji şirketinde Enerji projelerini (yenilenebilir enerji, mevzuat, fosil yakıtlar, elektrik ve doğalgaz operasyonları) takip etmektedir. 2018 yılında istanbul Ticaret Odası (iTO) Meclis Üyeliğine seçildi. Aynı zamanda iTO Enerji Komitesi Başkan Yardımcısı olarak görev yapmaktadır. Enerji Verimliliği Derneği (ENVER) icra Kurulunda Genel Başkan Yardımcısı (Muhasip) olarak görev yapmaktadır. Türkiye Enerji Zirvesi Danışma Kurulunda Üye olup aynı kurumun yayın organı olan Gas and Power Gazetesinin Gündem köşesinde yazarlık yapmaktadır. Medeniyet Üniversitesi Bilim ve ileri Teknoloji Uygulama ve Araştırma Merkezi (BiLTAM) Danışma üyeliğine seçilmiştir. Fenerbahçe Kongre Üyesi olan ŞEN, Sarı-Lacivert Derneği’nde Yönetim Kurulu Üyesi ve Kızılay Genel Kurul Üyesidir. 2021 yılında Dünya Enerji Konseyi Türk Milli Komitesi Yönetim Kurulu Üyeliğine seçilmiştir. Enerji bilirkişisi ve enerjide arabulucu olan Şen, işletme MBA eğitimini de tamamlamıştır. 2021-2024 yılları arasında Mimar ve Mühendisler Grubu (MMG) Genel Başkanlığı da yapmış olan Şen, MÜSİAD Enerji Sektör Kurulu Başkanı olarak görev yapmaktadır.
İngilizce bilmekte olan Şen, evli ve iki çocuk babasıdır.
