As MÜSİAD Energy and Environment Sector Board, we are working on energy, environment and climate change issues in line with sustainable development. As it is known, sustainable development is planning the life and development of today and the future by not harming natural resources and ensuring that these resources are consumed consciously, establishing a balance between humans and nature and meeting the needs of future generations and developing them. Concepts such as green growth, green economy, low-carbon economy, sustainable production and consumption have emerged under the framework of sustainable development in the world. In this context, we can summarize the work we do and support in order to minimize the negative impacts of industry on the environment and absorb the negative impacts of climate change as follows: Planned industrialization with established infrastructure and correct land use Increasing energy efficiency and savings in all sectors Increasing the share of new and renewable energy sources (hydraulic, solar, wind, geothermal, biomass, etc.) in primary energy sources, Improving fossil fuel combustion technologies and expanding combined heat and power plants, Using waste as alternative fuels, Ensuring conversion to fuels that emit less CO2, Strengthening the technological infrastructure for green transformation and supporting R&D studies, Conducting studies for harmonization with EU sustainable product initiative and chemicals legislation, Preparing general and sectoral national legislation for the implementation of EU Integrated Pollution Prevention and Control legislation, Effective and efficient use of our water resources; Selecting water-efficient machines for the machinery used in factories, developing in-plant reuse, grey water systems, ensuring that treated wastewater is reused as process water with advanced treatment methods, Implementing resource efficiency and clean production studies in all facilities, Effective waste minimization and management.

1982 yılında Konya’da doğan İsmail Hakkı Karaca, 2004 yılında Endüstri Mühendisliği eğitimini tamamladı. 2004 yılından bu yana enerji sektöründe faaliyet gösteren kendi şirketlerinde görev yapmaktadır. Hâlen doğal gaz, güneş enerjisi ve elektrikle ilgili faaliyetlerini sürdürmektedir. Makine Mühendisleri Odası (MMO) Konya Şubesi Yönetim Kurulu üyesi ve Güneş Enerjisi Sanayicileri ve Endüstrisi Derneği (GENSED) Yönetim Kurulu Sayman üyesidir. Makina Tasarım ve İmalat Teknolojileri Kongresi, Güneş Enerjisi Sistemleri Sempozyumu ve Sergisi, Yeni ve Yenilenebilir Enerji Kaynakları Sempozyumu ve Endüstri Mühendisliği Bahar Konferansları gibi bilimsel organizasyonların düzenleme kurullarında görev yapmaktadır.
Doğal gaz, yenilenebilir enerji teknolojileri, makina ve endüstri mühendisliği ile ilgili çeşitli bilimsel ve mesleki organizasyonlara panelist, konuşmacı, bildiri yazarı ve sunucusu olarak katılım sağlamıştır. Son olarak Karapınar’da enerji ihtisas endüstri bölgesi ilan edilmesi için hazırlanan fizibilite raporunun çalışma grubunda görev yapmış, Sanayi ve Ticaret Bakanlığı, Enerji Bakanlığı ve Konya Valiliği’nin bu bölge ile ilgili prensip kararı çıkarmasında rol oynamıştır.
İsmail Hakkı Karaca, MÜSİAD 27. Olağan Genel Kurulu’nda Enerji ve Çevre Sektör Kurulu Başkanı ve Yönetim Kurulu Üyesi olarak seçilmiştir.
Hâlen Endüstri Mühendisliği Bölümü’nde yüksek lisans çalışmasını sürdürmekte olan Karaca, evlidir.
